Instructions for Using Dual Screw Extruder Threaded Sleeves

Ⅰ. Operation instructions of the screw sleeve of the double-screw extruder:

1. Before each threading, the chips in the die chip flute and in the thread should be cleaned up;

2. Check the diameter of the round rod and the chamfer of the end before threading;

3. Oil lubrication should be added to the threaded sleeve on the steel round rod;

4. When setting the thread, the end face of the die should be perpendicular to the round rod, and the force should be uniform during operation. When starting to turn the die, a little pressure should be applied, but it can only be turned without pressure, and it should be turned over frequently to break the chips.

5. The cutting torque is very large when threading, which is easy to damage the machined surface of the round rod. Therefore, a hardwood V-groove gasket or a thick copper plate should be used as a protective sheet to clamp the workpiece. The length of the workpiece protruding from the jaw should be as short as possible without affecting the required length of the thread.

Ⅱ. Two principles of screw sleeve combination of double-screw extruder:

The thread lead should be larger at the feeding port and gradually decrease thereafter. The groove depth of the co-rotating twin-screw does not change, and the lead gradually becomes smaller, which reduces the volume of the groove and compresses the material.

There should be a resistance element behind the exhaust port, such as a kneading block or a reverse threaded element, and then a large-lead threaded element at the exhaust port. From here to the machine head, the lead gradually decreases, that is, with exhaust the mouth is the boundary, and the leads of the front and rear sections are generally from large to small. Where there are many kneading blocks, such as the mixing section, screw elements are arranged at a distance to enhance the conveying capacity.

The heat required for material melting comes from external heating and shearing heat, and a kneading block is configured in an appropriate place to strengthen shearing to promote melting, which can achieve good results. By adjusting the position of the kneading block in a certain area, the end point of melting can be controlled. If the kneading block is too close to the feeding port, it will lead to blockage and the consequence of increased torque on the screw of the twin-screw extruder, which must be avoided.
