Tips for Installation of Dual Screw Extruder and Handling Method of Emergency Shutdown

Ⅰ. Precautions for installation of dual screw extruder


When the dual screw extruder is operated, it must be operated according to the operation process. The loss of parts, equipment and raw materials will be borne by the operator if it is not operated according to the operation process or fails to perform the duties of the post.


First of all, the acceptance of the equipment out of the box is the first step for the acceptance of the dual screw extruder into the factory.


It is likely to find parts that are damaged and that the number of parts does not match the packing list when unpacking. Therefore, supply, transportation, equipment power and equipment management personnel should be invited to participate in the unpacking and acceptance of equipment. Joint acceptance when unpacking, and timely negotiation with the supply unit if problems are found.


Secondly, the foundation and installation of the dual screw extruder. The installation should not only bear the weight of the equipment itself and the raw materials used for production but also bear the dynamic load of the extruder when it is working.


Finally, the location of the extruder production line should be as close as possible to the finished product warehouse and the raw materials for production for convenience. For safety reasons, keep away from boiler rooms and substations. It is necessary to make the operator easy to operate in the production workshop, with good lighting, and the control box of the extruder is on the right hand side of the operator.


Ⅱ. The treatment method when the dual screw extruder is stopped in an emergency


There are two main ways to deal with the emergency stop of the double screw extruder: emergency stop and normal stop. The main steps are as follows:


1. Emergency stop


Once an emergency occurs during the operation of the double screw extruder, the emergency stop button should be pressed immediately (or the stop button of the faulty part will generally stop the main engine). After emergency shutdown, remember to immediately adjust the speed control knobs of the main motor and feeding motor to zero, and then shut down other auxiliary systems. After the fault is resolved, restart the vehicle in the normal driving sequence.


2. Normal stop


When the extruder is not shut down due to failure, it can be shut down in the following order: Close the gate of the hopper outlet. Adjust the speed of the feeder to zero, and press the stop switch button. Turn off the vacuum system, and then gradually reduce the screw speed (you should exhaust the remaining in the barrel as much as possible if you need to replace the new material). After adjusting the speed of the host to zero, press the stop button of the main motor. Cut off the multi-power switch on the host control cabinet, and cut off the main power switch of the incoming electricity. Finally, close the water inlet valves and clean the machine.
