Precautions and Operating Specifications in the Production Process of Twin Screw Extruder

In the production process of the twin screw extruder, if you want it to complete the production work normally, you need to pay attention to many aspects to avoid the three faults including the instability of the tension on the screw, the vibration of the copper wire on the annealing wheel, and the wear and tear caused by the long-term use of the main motor gearbox.


1. Precautions for the production process of twin screw extruder


(1) The tension on the screw is unstable


There may be many places where air pressure is used in the production workshop, which will cause the air pressure of the air pump of the dual screw extruder to be high and low, which makes the tension of the screw not constant, and because the speed of the wire collection is unchanged, then the pulling force of extrusion is also non-constant, which can cause the deviation of the outer diameter of the monofilament cannot be accurately controlled.


(2) The vibration of the copper wire on the annealing wheel


This makes the copper wire annealed in a state of being loose and tight, and the current density of annealing is sometimes large and small, while the strength of the copper wire at higher speeds is relatively low, so it is easy to cause the copper wire to strike sparks on the annealing wheel so that the surface of the copper wire is uneven in diameter due to the action of sparks.


(3) Wear and tear caused by the long-term use of the main motor gearbox


This can cause a mismatch between the speed of extrusion and the speed of wire collection, resulting in a thinning of the monofilament. Therefore, it is necessary to lubricate the screw well to prevent it from causing reverse friction to the wire during high-speed operation, thereby thinning the wire; adjust the tension of the wire so that the stroke of the wire drawing is always close to the annealing wheel.


2. Operation specification of the twin screw extruder


(1) Before starting the twin screw extruder each time, check whether there are foreign objects in the barrel, up and down the hopper, and inside, check whether the fastening bolts of various parts are loose, whether the safety cover is firm, and whether the position of each button switch is correct, and then add enough lubricating oil to the lubricating parts, and do a good job of cleaning and sanitation of the equipment.


(2) Start the motor that drives the screw to rotate at low speed, and check whether the pointer of the working ammeter of the main motor swings normally. If there is an abnormal sound in the operation of the equipment or the screw is not running smoothly, it should be stopped immediately, and the relevant personnel should be asked to repair it and solve the problem.


(3) The idling test run of the screw should not exceed 3 minutes. After everything is normal, install the mold and install the connecting bolts for the mold. Before use, apply silicone oil or a layer of molybdenum disulfide to facilitate disassembly.


(4) In the early stage of feeding production, the screw uses a low working speed, and the feeding should be less and uniform. Check how the pointer of the working ammeter of the electric motor used to drive the screw swings at any time to see if there is any abnormality.


(5) After the dual screw extruder is put into normal production, the operator should always check the temperature change of the bearing part. When checking the temperature of the motor and each bearing part, gently touch the inspection part with the back of your finger.
