From First Consultation to Long-Term Partnership: Five KYMACH Extruders Successfully Delivered

Many customer relationships at KYMACH begin with a brief conversation at an exhibition or a technical discussion at an industry forum.

We believe that successful cooperation often takes time. Rather than focusing only on the initial equipment purchase, we maintain long-term communication with customers, working together to understand process requirements, evaluate equipment options, and refine solutions as their projects develop.

First Contact in 2023, Partnership in 2026

In early 2023, a customer who was new to the plastic compounding industry approached KYMACH for technical consultation.

At that time, the customer's project was still in its early stages. The product portfolio was under development, and the customer was evaluating different equipment and processing routes.

KYMACH's technical team reviewed the customer's material system and initial production plans, and provided recommendations regarding twin-screw extruder selection and process parameter optimization.

Over the following three years, the two sides remained in contact.

As the customer's process requirements and production plans evolved, KYMACH continued to provide technical support. When technical questions arose, the customer would also communicate directly with KYMACH's engineers to discuss processing issues and potential solutions.

The discussions were not limited to equipment. They also covered processing technology, market development, and future production plans.

In April 2026, the two sides met again at CHINAPLAS. By then, the customer's production requirements had expanded and the project had entered a new stage.

In August 2026, the customer officially placed an order with KYMACH for five twin-screw extruders: two HK63MT units and three HK53MT units, for large-scale production of polyolefin masterbatch.

Technical Solution for Polyolefin Masterbatch Production

Polyolefin masterbatch production places relatively high demands on feeding capacity, dispersion and mixing performance, temperature control, and energy efficiency.

To support the customer's transition from formulation development to large-scale production, KYMACH developed an integrated equipment and process solution.

Higher Torque for Higher Throughput

The HK MT series co-rotating twin-screw extruders use a high-torque drive design with increased gearbox load capacity and stable torque transmission.

Higher specific torque allows the extruder to deliver greater mechanical power at a given screw speed. This provides greater flexibility in material filling and processing intensity, supporting higher throughput within the applicable process conditions.

Enlarged Feeding Opening

For masterbatch formulations containing high levels of powders and pigments, feeding capacity can become a limiting factor.

KYMACH optimized the geometry of the main feeding barrel by increasing the feeding opening area.

Combined with conveying screw elements with a larger pitch, this design improves material intake and helps reduce the risk of bridging or material backflow at the feed inlet.

Optimized Screw Configuration

Based on the characteristics of polyolefin masterbatch formulations, KYMACH's technical team customized the arrangement of the screw elements.

In the melting section, efficient kneading elements are used to support plasticization.

In the mixing section, the screw configuration is optimized to improve both dispersive and distributive mixing.

In the pressure-building section, single-flight conveying elements are used to help control melt temperature.

The objective is to achieve effective pigment dispersion while limiting excessive shear and the associated accumulation of shear heat.

High Throughput with Controlled Energy Consumption

The combination of the high-torque drive system and optimized screw configuration allows the HK MT series to process materials at a higher filling level while controlling shear intensity.

The barrel is also equipped with a radial cooling-channel design, together with imported heating elements, to improve temperature-control response and support more efficient thermal management.

These features help the extrusion system balance throughput, dispersion performance, melt-temperature control, and energy consumption in polyolefin masterbatch production.

From First Contact to Long-Term Cooperation

From the first technical consultation in 2023, to meeting again at CHINAPLAS in April 2026, and finally to the formal cooperation in August 2026, the relationship developed over more than three years.

For KYMACH, this project represents more than the delivery of five extruders. It reflects the value of maintaining continuous technical communication and supporting customers as their production requirements evolve.

From the first technical discussion to large-scale production, KYMACH continues to work with customers throughout their development journey — providing equipment, process support, and practical extrusion solutions as their needs grow.
